Navigation
Click on the “Home” button to return to the home page.
Click on the “Glossary & Help” button to access the ‘Glossary page, the ‘How to Use’ page and the ‘Interactive Map Help’ page.
Click on the “Find a Profile” button to navigate to the list of National Character Area profiles.
When on a National Character Area profile page, click on the profile name to navigate the pages within the profile.
Search
Use the search box to search for National Character Area profiles based on their number, name, or Local Authority.
Expandable sections
Click on expandable sections to view the content within these.
Access Options widget
Clicking on the Access Options widget on the side of the screen will allow you to alter the font size and website contrast to increase readability. Please note, when using the greyscale or contrast functions the widget may not automatically move down the page as you scroll. It will remain accessible to click on again when you scroll back up the page.
External hyperlinks
Hyperlinks with a blue icon next to them are links to external web pages. Clicking on these will open these web pages in a new tab.
Interactive Map Help
Visit the Interactive Map Help page for help on using the interactive maps.
On the Key Facts and Data page, there is a map pin symbol against each section that contains a map.
